Carmina Burana
'An attraction of magical force,' is how composer Carl Orff felt when he discovered the book of 13th century verse Carmina Burana in the early 1930s. From its 320 verses, Orff chose 23 to create a powerful, primal, pulsating picture of medieval life, a ‘scenic cantata’ celebrating nature, chivalry, courtly love, sex and, not least, the pleasures of the grape. As popular with advertising agencies as it is with concert audiences, Carmina Burana features three vocal soloists and the full MSO Chorus under the dynamic direction of Czech maestro Jakub Hrusa. The Orchestra also welcomes back Macedonian-born pianist Simon Trpčeski for the power and passion of Rachmaninov's first Piano Concerto.

Cider Mill Inn is an old, rustic country inn owned by an endearing elderly couple, Michael and Susan Edwards. At first they appear to be bordering on senility. We quickly learn however that they are very clever con artists, preying on their unsuspecting guests. Using an elaborate check-in form, guests are, in fact, signing a work contract, requiring them to perform various improvements at the inn. Plumbers, tile layers, carpenters and electricians are recruited to do work they never expected. But what is Susan's secret?
