Synopsis:
Barney is an innocent-at-large, who has been wedded in irreproachable married bliss to a viruous Jewish wife for 23 years. He feels the urge to sow his wild oats and join the sexual revolution before it's too late. His mother's flat is unoccupied for two days a week, so he decides to use it for some adventures in the art of seduction.
He invites three women to the flat with every intention of having his wicked way with them:
- The first is a beautifully dressed, beautifully-coiffured, sophisticated, hard-drinking and hard-boiled sexpot with no inhibitions about being seduced or, indeed, initiating the seduction herself. She's too hot to handle.
- The second is a nutty, dope-smoking dolly-bird who is a would-be actress. She introduces Barney to the joys of marijuana. She is too weird to cope with and, in any case, they are both too befuddled to do anything but drift away into dreamland.
- The third is a manic-depressive who is the dissatisfied wife of one of Barney's best friends. She's too guilt-ridden and gloomy to serve the purpose.
He ends up inviting his wife to the flat, where, presumably, he has a bit more success.
