Incredibly, when John Cleese and Connie Booth first submitted their scripts for Fawlty Towers to the BBC they were not at all well received. But, after the success of Monty Python the BBC decided to trust Cleese’s judgement, and the result was one of the most treasured and influential comedies of all time.

Taking on the challenge of bringing the show to the stage, Encore Theatre Company has developed a well-earned reputation for specialising in comedy. Previous productions have included stage adaptations of Are You Being Served? and ‘Allo ‘Allo.
