FRANZ Lehar’s ‘The Land of Smiles’ (1929) is set to entertain audiences for eight shows only with its bitter-sweet story that truly touches the heart.
It’s the moving love story of East meets West shown through the love between a Viennese woman and a Chinese Prince.
It contains drama, romance and comedy and is another magnificent production from the celebrated composer - the beguiling score contains glamorous and romantic waltzes, serenades and arias, including the popular ‘You are My Heart’s Delight,’ Richard Tauber’s signature song.
The Land of Smiles will run for eight shows only at Subiaco Arts Centre between June 21 - 30.
