The charity "Happy Wings" is not a happy place. At least, not at the top.

For those privileged enough to be there, they know a different company - one that exists purely as a good will and cash generator for parent corporation and fast food chain Janela Chicken.

Express Lane is a comedy that explores one of humanity’s greatest mysteries: why do we wait in the 8 items or less lane at the shopping centre, when all other checkouts move quicker?

Despite this, people fight for their right, nay, duty, to occupy this lane so long as they possess under the required limit of goods. What results is a dropping of the everyday facades and masks that people put up, the long wait revealing their true nature as they do anything they can to try and get ahead in line, and out into the real world.

About "TIN MAN"
Our film company for "TIN MAN" is FIRST DESIGNS PICTURES a new student owned business from Elliot Green and Peter Cheng. This is our largest production so far with a budget of $1000 of hard earned, fundraised cash. It is not only our upcoming largest production but also the first film having cast auditions to the general public.
"TIN MAN" is an arthouse drama film that follows the story of a troubled teenager (Adam) as he searches for love, meaning and acceptance. He hangs out with his friends and goes to parties, but fails to comprehend how other people live their lives. Adam is truly an outsider.
The parts available for audition are: Adam, Mary (Adam's best friend), Jackie (a drunken party girl), Zac (a guy at a party), and James (Adam's other friend).

After its sell-out season of Rent, Canned Laughter presents Patrick Marber`s award winning dramatic masterpiece Closer starring Helpmann Award nominee Alexis Fishman (Dusty) !

"TIN MAN" is a student short film which is to be filmed later this year.
It is going to be entered into film festivals and is a great chance
for aspiring young actors and actresses to gain experience and also
publicity at the festivals.
