You'd think it would be a director's dream to be swamped with choices after a productive round of auditions but it really is a mixed blessing.
I'm coming to the end of a couple of weeks of auditions for Cosi and am now faced with the daunting prospect of selecting a cast from amongst some of the amazing people that auditioned.

We need a male actor between the age of 35-50 to play a lead role in our Curtin Third year short film. We have had to recast at the last minute so would be shooting in no less than 2 weeks time. The shooting dates are as follows: 2nd, 3rd and 4th of Sept; and 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th of Sept (all day shoots). It's a great script- a heart-warming coming of age story; and a great part- Edward, an insecure father/accountant who attempts to take his son on a spare of the monemt holiday to teach him how to fish.

Well, technically that is not true. While the 2006 One Act Season os over for Garrick Theatre, we are still yet to present our efforts to the ITA One Act Festival late September.
None the less, there was definitely a parting of ways which was quite emotional for us all. It was interesting to watch the cast as they developed strong bonds of friendship with each other during the rehearsal period. They have been a real team for this show, which is fantastic considering the ensemble nature of the production. They all took their individual roles and really lived the parts.
