I loved the simplicity and minimalism of these productions. Without elaborate sets and costumes, the focus is essentially on the text, the plot, the characters, the performance. And what a great space to put on shows like this.

The Story
Set in 1913, Leo Frank, a Brooklyn-born Jewish man living in Georgia, is put on trial for the murder of 13-year-old Mary Phagan, a factory worker under his employment. Already guilty in the eyes of everyone around him, a sensationalist publisher and a janitor’s false testimony seal Leo’s fate. His only defenders are a governor with a conscience, and, eventually, his wife Lucille, who finds the strength and love to become his greatest champion. This Multi-Tony Award Winning Musical is based on a true story and set to a stunning score by Jason Robert-Brown – “one of Broadway's smartest and most sophisticated songwriters since Stephen Sondheim”
