‘Proximity’ is a Fringe Festival World First – a micro festival within the festival. Showing every Sunday until the 19^th February, are groups of 12-minute performances at 3.00 pm, 4.00 pm and 5.00 pm. This unique approach has been co-curated by James Berlyn and Sarah Rowbottam, can be seen in the Blue Room Theatre, 53 James Street, Northbridge.

‘Missing’ is the first play by Irish born actress Sandi Buckley, who is now Perth-based and part of the Black Swan Young Writers Programme. A Satellite Artist Production (Australian First) the play is at The Blue Room Theatre, 53 James Street, Northbridge. The 55 minute play runs until Saturday 4^th Feb. All shows are at 7.00 pm.

A Psychological thriller peppered with Jet Black Comedy

Mark Styler is a writer of ‘true crime ‘stories who arrives at Fairfields hospital for the criminally insane intent on interviewing a notorious serial killer, Easterman, for his upcoming novel. He meets Dr. Farquhar, the hospital director; however things don't seem quite right. Dr. Farquhar‘s assistant Nurse Plimpton seems frightened of something. Styler’s fight for a story may be his last. Suspense, intrigue, twists and turns and a question of sanity, all served with a scrumptious peppering of jet black comedy.

The story follows five students at the fictional Shermer High School in Chicago, Illinois as they report for Saturday detention in March of 1984. Each a member of a different high school clique, together they come to realise that they are deeper than their respective stereotypes: Bender "The Criminal", Claire "The Princess", Brian "The Brain", Andrew "The Athlete" and Allison "The Basket Case".

I'll admit I had to drag myself out to see this, put off by the concept and by a general dislike of absurdism. But as I knew two of the actors involved I put in an appearance...well.

I'm very, very, very glad I did.

Mindgame is dark and intense but there is some very funny dialogue that lightens up the intense moments and comic relief with props and music. From the moment you start reading this play you are double guessing who is who?

Auditions for Checkout The Musical.

Production dates for the Perth show will be the 2nd to the 8th of February 2012 and production dates for the Adelaide fringe will be the 9th to the 19th of March 2012. Please don’t audition if you are not free for both productions. Rehearsals will begin in December 2011. Checkout will be a co-op production. You will need to fund your own Flights and accommodation for the Adelaide Fringe tour. Checkout the Musical has had many successful seasons throughout Perth.

‘Blood Brothers’ is based loosely on the 1844 novella ‘The Corsican Brothers’; it was turned into a play in 1981 by Willy Russell and then developed into the Tony and Olivier Award winning musical three years later. The ‘Blood Brothers’ musical went on to be the longest running West End musical. It is now presented by the Limelight Theatre, Civic Drive, Wanneroo nightly at 8.00 pm until 10^th December with matinees on the 3^rd and 10^th December at 2.00 pm.
