The Mount Nebo Play Development Project is looking for actors for pro-am readings and workshops throughout March & April. Each Sunday in March the Project will be reading new Australian plays by a local playwright. Then in April a series of workshops will be run with a view to a rehearsed reading (April 28) and productions at the Metro Arts (November) and in the Southeast Queensland Drama Festival (July). Presently the Project has secured the services of Brisbane theatre identity Ian Brown as professional director for the workshops and is currently applying to the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) for a grant.

Private singing lessons are offered with professional singing teacher Alex Feifers. Alex has a Bachelor of Music from QUT and a Graduate Certificate in Music Studies from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and is currently a Voice Specialist at Harvest Rain Theatre Company, Theatre and Dance and Vocal Director of the Youth Performing Arts Company (YPAC).

These terrific acting classes are for young actors aged between 12 – 16 years. Cienda will teach the performers how to audition in front of the camera – how to bring their characters to life on screen. These acting classes are perfect for teens wanting to develop acting for camera skills. The class is a mixture of boys and girls and everyone has a lot of fun. At the end of the term, all actors receive a DVD copy of their 8 week class work to watch at home. Max – 14 students per class.

KIDS ON CAMERA HOLIDAY WORKSHOP is a fun and exciting week that is perfect for kids who love being in front of the camera and those that just love to act. Run by professional actress and teacher Rio Holland, kids will have the opportunity to express themselves on camera – inventing their own stories, re-creating their favourite films and TV shows and playing around with character and text. They will also learn acting for camera techniques, auditioning for ads, commercials and TV.
