'Still Here' stars Alex Manfrin and Malcolm Dix at the Blue Room. They have the late slot of 9.00 until the 12th August.
The show, which is mainly a blend of standup comedy and irreverent sketches, starts with a video look back at Perth's 'culture' over the last 30 years. In actual fact the show starts in the lounge outside where the waiting audience are asked to buy a rose from a Russian flower seller (Alex).
There can be no doubting the tremendous amount of work that has gone into this show. Some of the sketches are hilarious, Manfrin's bush story teller was a hoot along with 'Gary Steele' (Dix) sent to save the world. The quality of the acts ranged from totally tasteless - but funny - to the odd one, which despite ingenious props, I thought just too silly so didn't work for me. Perhaps my sense of humour. But an 85% success rate on the acts can't be too bad.
If you like Billy Connelly and Kevin Bloody Wilson then you will love this show.
