Extra performances - ATT. Lynn Trainor

Dear Mr. Smith,

I understand the Hunters Hill Theatre has applied to have an extra matinee performance with each play. As you are aware I am a long term resident of Margaret Street and concerned with our community in many respects I would like you to know that I support the extra matinee performances requested by the theatre. I also prefer to attend the matinees and they are always sold out indicating the popularity of performances at those times.

I have just attended a matinee when the Probus club also had a group booking. I was informed by one of them that they have to restrict their bookings to 50 to enable more individuals to get tickets which are at such a premium for matinees. This is an indication of the need for extra matinees. We have a large aging population who love the performances in daylight hours.

As far as being a resident in the street the matinees do not cause any additional problems re parking etc. by my observation. I own two units at 20 Margaret Street and am Liaison Officer for our block of units. There have been no complaints in respect of matinee parking or noise etc. to my knowledge,

I hope Council will not refuse the request for the extra matinees. They are of great community benefit and enjoyment especially to your Senior Citizens..

Kind regards,

Pamela Alvarez
